Michael Broughton
Legal Practitioner Director
Ever since he started his career, Michael has enjoyed being able to help people who need legal support.
“I find it genuinely interesting to hear their stories and help them to navigate through the highs and lows of seeking compensation,” he says. “And when we achieve a great result for them, I’m so gratified to know that I’ve done my job professionally and with care.
Michael started Lime Lawyers in 2015 with his partner, Peter Hall, after the two had shared 12 years’ experience in the large compensation firm, Trilby Misso. Michael was General Manager of the firm that employed 200 staff, coordinating strategy and managing multiple business departments, and had been Personal Injury Practice Group Leader.
Michael is a senior Personal Injury lawyer who says that his intense focus on each client individually, rather than the bottom line, has never wavered.
“In a smaller firm like ours, it’s really important that we can meet clients face-to-face, get their full history and give them time to explain what’s happened. Many of them are coming from a difficult place with no real information, guidance or support and don’t know what to do.
“That’s where we come in, to start a relationship that is based around not only their financial compensation goals, but more importantly providing information and the best representation we can.”
Michael works hard to keep himself and his team current with WorkCover Queensland Personal Injury law and rule changes so their advice is always timely and effective.
“Our goal is to evolve Lime’s Personal Injury work within a dynamic, ever-changing environment. We owe it to our clients to always be one step ahead.”
Outside work, Michael and his family are Brisbane Lions and Redcliffe Dolphins tragics. He is actively involved in his kids’ hockey, cricket and AFL teams, and enjoys spending time on Stradbroke Island, camping, playing golf and fishing.
